Tons O' Topics Day 17

Day 17: What is the bravest thing you've seen someone else do? It can be someone you know personally, something that you witnessed, etc.

I know I'm probably a little biased here, but I will say the bravest thing I have seen 'someone' do is--

WOMEN GIVING BIRTH TO THEIR CHILDREN.

I've yet to do this yet, but I can tell you this--

Women become completely sacrificial once they see those two pink lines on that pregnancy test. It's no longer about what YOU want, but it becomes what they NEED. Where you once ate whatever you wanted, drank and partied with your friends, slept in late, did all kinds of crazy things...

Now you're focusing on taking vitamins every morning, trying not to throw up, drinking plenty of water, eating the right foods, getting enough rest....

You let this other person occupy space within you for 9-10months. They call the shots now. (Am I right ladies? haha!)

And then, you go through HOURS of labor to bring this beautiful baby into the world. It hurts, it's painful (of course, I don't know EXACTLY yet... we're getting there, haha) but I can tell you after experiencing all that I have experienced during this pregnancy, pregnant women are some of the BRAVEST people that I know.

Tons O' Topics Day 16

Day 16: What gives you hope?

When I see someone do something kind for someone. My hope in society and the world gets lifted.

God gives me hope, because He never leaves me. I feel so blessed to know and trust in Someone that encourages me, that loves me, that embraces me.

I know I'm not perfect, but the fact that He still takes care of me gives me hope! He is with me through every situation and I am so grateful for that!

Tons O' Topics Day 15

Day 15: Do you believe everything happens for a reason? Why or why not?

Yes, I do. I am firm believer in this. I don't believe in coincidences. I believe that God prepares things for us and works hard to make sure everything works together for our good.

For example:

Last night my mom called me when she got home from the party we had went to. She said that while driving home, she went the backroads. While driving, she passed a church that had a quote about patience on their sign. It said something like 'Patience is respecting those in front of you as much as you would want respect from the person behind you..." (I know that isn't right, but you get the picture, right? haha!) Anyways, she said she read the sign and thought 'Yea, Lord, that's a great thought..." and she kept driving.

As she kept driving on these curvy backroads, a jeep pulled out and started driving in front of her. And guess what?? They were driving about 20mph in a 35. She said she was getting so frustrated because she just wanted to get home. As they were progressing up one of the hills, the jeep in front of her hit it's brakes and then kept going. She said she was getting irritated and yelled in her vehicle, "Why are we stopping!?" The jeep continued driving and mom slammed on her brakes. She was 3 feet from a deer. She said had she not been following this slow vehicle and had they not hit their brakes for that split second, she may have hit the deer. And guess what? On the back of the jeep's bumper, it said 'Friend of God.'

Now, you might be thinking 'That's coincidence' but I believe that God had His hand on my mother... and I believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. God protected her and did all that He did for her. I thank Him for that and that He takes the time to use EVERYTHING for our good!

Tons O' Topics Day 14

Day 14: What is the wackiest advice you've ever received?

Wow, this is tough, haha! I'm sitting here trying to rack my brain thinking of the WACKIEST advice I've ever received.... give me a few minutes. Usually if it's ridiculous advice, I put it outside of my mind and never think of it again, haha!

I think the wackiest advice I've ever received was....

"Don't get married."

I know, sounds crazy right? But you wouldn't believe the amount of cynical people out there. I always heard "Don't get married too young..." "Divorce rates are high..." "Love doesn't last..."

but truth be told, I couldn't imagine my life without Ethan in it :) I WANTED to marry him. December 28th, 2010 was an incredible day that we will never forget. I think taking that advice and tossing it out the window has made all the difference in my life, hehe :)

Tons O' Topics Day 13

Day 13: If you had a time machine that only let you spend one hour in a different time, what date would you go to?

That's a tough one. There have been some amazing days in my life. But, and I'm going to get sappy here.... I would probably just go back to one day where my brother and I still lived at home with my parents.

I LOVE my life right now! I love being married to the love of my life. I love our house. I love being pregnant with our sweetheart. I love how things are, but...

I do miss being around my family all of the time. It's hard to believe that we all live a distance away from one another and we have to 'plan' visiting each other. I see my parents when I plan on going somewhere with them, or we invite them to dinner. I see my brother about 2 times a month because of his work/school schedule.

Life is a beautiful gift, but boy oh boy, did it go by quick. Sometimes, I just miss staying up late watching movies with all of them. I miss my mom popping pop corn at night. I miss the smell of my dad's coffee in the morning. I miss my brother stomping his feet thanks to an Xbox game he was playing. Sometimes, I just miss the 'old days.' hehe :)

Tons O' Topics Day 12

Day 12: What made you start blogging?

Honestly, in December 2009, a bunch of my friends were on Plurk chit-chatting and one of them brought up the idea of a 'Project 365.' She said she had seen one of her friends writing about it on Facebook. So, we all get really curious about it. I started looking up other Project 365s and I FELL IN LOVE with the idea! So, I got started...

I started off just posting 1 picture a day, but soon, I started realizing I wanted to talk about my whole day, so I did that :) And soon, I branched off and started writing about other topics when the mood hit me.

I LOVE blogging. I LOVE documenting life. I enjoy looking back at March 24th, 2010 and see what I was doing then and see how my life has changed. I can't wait to take tons of pictures of Tayler and document her sweet, beautiful life :) I am a blogging advocate and I find myself encouraging a lot of others to blog as well!

Tons O' Topics Day 11

Day 11: What are you looking forward to most in 2011?

Oh did you even have to THINK about this question? LOL

It's OF COURSE the arrival of this beautiful baby girl (that could happen at any time....) and boy oh boy, are we all anxious, haha!

I'm so ready to see what she looks like! As I've said before, I literally go to bed every night dreaming about what she will look like when she first comes out.... when the doctor holds her up for me to see! Is she going to have chubby cheeks? How much hair will she have? What color will it be? What color will her eyes be? Will she have my nose? How much will she weigh? How long will she be?

I get so teary-eyed and anxious just thinking about it. I am so in love with this precious sweetheart already and just so so so ready to meet her!

Tons O' Topics Day 10

Day 10: Write one thing you've never told anyone. Go on... confession is good for the soul. Why haven't you told anyone until now?

Oh, wow. Well, if I haven't ever told anyone, I think there'd be a reason WHY I've never told anyone, haha! But shoot-- I'm really going to have to think about this one....

[please note there was about a 20minute pause in between writing that first sentence and writing the next one....]

Alright, well.. this isn't anything juicy that you'd be just shocked to hear about, but it's the only thing I can think of because I'm home alone every day and it's not something I particularly talk about outside of my house (because there's no reason to LOL) but I'm addicted to Match Game on the Game Show Network. It's old... you know, Match Game 74, Match Game 75..... but I have a serious addiction to it! It's on from 8-9AM and then again from 11-12PM. And yes, I watch EVERY episode and laugh my behind off, haha! Maybe I need a life? I'm not sure, haha! But either way-- at least you know now!

Boy that feels good to get off my chest LOL

Tons O' Topics Day 9

Day 9: What do you want to be remembered for?

I want to be remembered for my smile :) I want people to know that I was a happy person. I want them to be able to say 'She didn't say a bad thing about anyone...' I want them to remember that I LOVED life and that they should love it too! When they think of me, I want them to smile. I want them to know how much I loved my family... how much I loved my husband.. how much I loved my daughter.. and how much I loved my friends :) I want them to remember me for optimism, not pessimism. Life is too amazing to be sad and depressed all of the time, right? :)

Tons O' Topics Day 8

Day 8: How do you stay entertained when you're snowed in?

We had plenty of 'snowed in' moments this year.. especially because I was nice and big and pregnant during the winter, haha! It was just scary to venture out if it was too bad... didn't want to risk falling, so we (or should I say 'I') spent a lot of time indoors :)

What did I do while inside?

Cleaned. Watched Netflix (thank God for that!), hung out with Ethan, invited friends over, ate, organized Tayler's things, did some A LOT of online shopping, played games.... just did anything and everything to keep myself occupied. Oh, and I slept. Slept a lot, haha! HEY-- I'm pregnant ;) I'm allowed, hehe!!

Tons O' Topics Day 7

Day 7: How do you stay focused on a task or activity?

I have a system. Well, as long as the task/activity is in my home, haha! Whatever it is, I get all the things together that I need... I make my bed, clear off everything, clean my room, turn on "Ghost Whisperer" (or a TV show series on DVD that I LOVE), and get started! For some reason, I feel like I HAVE to do things in my room for me to get it accomplished! But guess what? It gets done! :)

Tons O' Topics Day 6

Day 6: Are you stressed out right now? If so, about what? If not, how do you control the things going on in your life?

I wouldn't say I'm stressed per se. I'm feeling a lot.

I just rambled on and on in my Project 365 blog about this.

I am feeling EVERYTHING right now. Every emotion. It's a constant roller coaster. I cried to my mom for about 40 minutes last night because I just feel sooo much in my heart and mind right now... and it all revolves around giving birth to my sweet, sweet girl.

I... first of all... am EXCITED. I cannot wait to see her! I cannot wait to hold her! I have so much love for her already and she's just moving around in my tummy. Words cannot even express how ready I am for the doctor to hold her up and for me to see that beautiful face for the first time! :)

I am NERVOUS. Why? Because of the fear of the unknown. I'm a first time mom getting ready to give birth. It's a lot to be nervous about, you know? Every one says "You'll be fine" and I know this. I trust God to have His hands on my family during that time, but it's still human nature to be anxious. I find myself having to take deep breaths to calm myself.

I am ANXIOUS. It's the waiting game now. I'm full-term. Everything is ready for her. So, now.. I just sit here and wait for contractions to start or for my water to break. It's hard to be patient when you're so excited.. and so nervous.. and just ready to get the ball rolling, so it'll all be over and you finally have your sweetheart in your arms!!

And through all of this, I'm trying to also ENJOY the last few days/weeks of this pregnancy. It has been such an exciting, scary, overwhelming, amazing journey since July 26th, 2010-- the first time I took a pregnancy test and saw a faint, positive line. And now here we are, March 18th, 2011-- 20 days til' D-Day. Just crazy, I tell you.

So, I wouldn't say that I'm STRESSED.... more like... on an emotional roller coaster that will likely continue until I can finally just see my baby girl!

Tons O' Topics Day 5

Day 5: Do you prefer to talk, text, or use a different communication method?

Well, this depends. I'm a chicken. So, if I have something to say and I'm scared to call, I'll text.

I actually text a lot of people and that's ALL our communication is. Weird, huh? But I still feel like we have good friendships even if it is just constant IMing/texting communication.

If it's Ethan or someone in my family, I prefer talking on the phone. It's quicker.

If it's something I have to say quickly or is too much to text type, I prefer to call.

If you're a telemarketer, I prefer no communication method, haha!

Tons O' Topics Day 4

Day 4: Share something that makes you smile. It can be anything!

I know, I know... all of my posts revolve around my pregnancy, but I just can't help it! :) It's been SUCH an amazing journey and I can hardly believe it is coming to an end. With that being said, the kicks, the punches, the rolls, the movements... all of that makes me smile... YES, even when it's at 2:30AM, hehe! I can't help it! I know that there are so many women out there that struggle to become pregnant, that face difficult circumstances during their pregnancy...... I know the trials we have had to face during this pregnancy, so I can't help but smile and get a little teary-eyed EVERY time I feel this miracle move. She's pushing the laptop off my stomach as we speak, haha! Hilarious little lady, let me tell you! I've been feeling her kick for about 16 weeks now, and it still gives me butterflies every time (at least I think that's butterflies... hehe!) I am so in love with her and I feel so blessed to be able to walk down this path! Thank You God for our miracle!

Tons O' Topics Day 3

Day 3: What was your BEST accomplishment in 2010? You can only post one, so think hard!

Well, I was inclined to say conceiving our child... and getting married, but I don't know if those would be considered accomplishments-- they're more like BLESSINGS :) So, if it has to be something that I worked hard on.. it would be publishing a book!

It's a devotional-type book about different struggles in life... about finding your purpose. It's my first attempt at this whole writing thing :) I only hope that others find reading it, what I found writing it...

If you're interested in purchasing it, please check out the link on the right side of this blog :)

God bless!

Tons O' Topics Day 2

Day 2: Name someone who deserves more credit than they get. You can also talk about how to change things so they receive more credit, post about this person, how you know them, ways we can get to know them, etc.

This is a tough one. I had to really think about the people I know (or don't know) and who I feel does not get the credit that they truly deserve in this world. And honestly-- (and I'm going to get philosophical here...) I think it would be God. See, here's my thought process:

When bad things happen... (natural disasters, death, etc.), it's always "God, why did You let this happen?" "God, why would You do that to someone?" I don't know if everyone out there hears this, but I know that I hear it quite often from people.

BUT... when good things happen (i.e a new job, guarded from a car accident, a blessing of money, etc.) it seems it's all about what that person did to avoid disaster. I'm even guilty of it. When something good happens, I say "I'm so glad we went that route..." when I should have said "Thank You God for Your blessings! You are always blessing us!"

I need to remember this more often!

August 13th Journal Prompt: Anger.

The journal prompt of the day is: How do you deal with your anger? I bottle a lot of my emotions up inside. If I feel anger- it may show on...
