Project 366: Day 37 [March 24th]

TODAY WAS TAYLER'S BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!!

Heck yea! This was one excited Mommy, let me tell you! I told Ethan I could hardly sleep the night before because I was so anxious to get things started haha!

We woke up around 8:00AM, got ready, and headed out to pick up Tayler's 'Yo Gabba Gabba' birthday cake. A company by the name of 'Anna Marie's Cakery' was making it out of Newark, Ohio. Let me tell you-- if you're looking for any kind of cake.. this should be the spot you go to! She has a Facebook page if you are curious! Just type in her company name and you can pull it up :) She did an amazing job. I'll show you in a second! :)

We had the birthday party at Golden Corral. What an amazing restaurant. They didn't charge us anything for the room which was a huge relief! My mom came to help me set things up with Ethan. That was a huge help! We got the table cloths on the tables with the bowls of candy, confetti, and balloons! We got balloons on the wall and a 'Yo Gabba Gabba' scene :) It was ADORABLE! We even had a photo table for her with tons of photo albums of her life and wallet-sized pictures everyone could take. But guess what?? Tayler slept through the ENTIRE thing, hahaha! I wish I was kidding. She started getting fussy when everyone arrived, so went and got some food, set her in her high chair, and started giving her food, but honestly-- she was NOT having it. So, I took her out and we started opening presents to get things moving. She was screaming bloody murder, so I rocked her to sleep and yes, that's where she was the entire time.. until about 2:30PM (her party started at 1PM, hahaha!) It was hilarious! I had a minor meltdown where I cried for like a millisecond, but Dad kept things going with funny stories ;) Thanks Dad! And she eventually woke up and it was the perfect time for pictures and a smash cake :)

We had such a wonderful time and we appreciate everyone being there!

And now... for what everyone is probably waiting on ;) PICTURES!!! I picked the 10 I really liked that I felt showcased her party!

My mom made her outfit. Didn't she do an adorable job?? LOVED the Foofa shirt and the bow, of course! Foofa is Tayler's FAVORITE!!

Tayler's tent that her Papaw and Gigi bought her. She already loves it! She is climbing in and out of it thinking she's big, haha! When we got home, we had to get out all of the toys including this ;) thanks Pap and Gigi!

I told you the cake was absolutely adorable!! Didn't she do an AMAZING job?? LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! The 'Yo Gabba Gabba' characters were spot on. It was perfect! Thank you so much Anna Marie's Cakery!

Some of the decorations. We just got multi-colored table cloths, confetti, and we ordered that 'Yo Gabba Gabba' scene online :)

My brother and sister-in-law made ALL of the characters so that people could get their pictures behind them :) This is a group of friends and myself. Carrie is Brobee, I am Plex, Kyra is Muno, and Cassie is Toodee. Foofa was there, but there was only 4 of us getting our picture taken, haha! Didn't they do a good job?

The babies! Remember all of my old posts when I was pregnant about my 'preggo buddies?' Kyra had Bentley March 1st, Carrie had Jaylee March 15th, and I had Tayler at the end of March :) Crazy that time has flown that fast. I am thankful that we are all still friends and that our kids can grow up together :)

My mom made Tayler's smash cake. Didn't she do a great job? I LOVED it and so did Tayler! Thank you so much Gigi for working so hard for Tayler's party! It meant a lot to me!

Tayler wasn't too sure about the cake at first, but then she saw Uncle Corey and was ECSTATIC!! :) She loves her Uncle Corey and this just shows it, haha! Isn't that like the best picture in the world?? LOVE IT.

Mommy and Daddy decided to get their picture taken with the Birthday Girl! :) We love her with our WHOLE heart! She is the best thing that ever happened to us... such a blessing!

My sister left already, but these are her uncle and aunts on my side of the family with her Papaw and Gigi :) Starting from left to right, there's Aunt Marie, Gigi, Uncle Corey, Uncle Brad, Papaw, and Tayler of course!!

It was an amazing day! Thank you to everyone that came out and supported her. It meant the absolute world to us! I can't wait for Tayler to see all of the pictures when she grows up! :) They were absolutely adorable!

And now for the prayer today:

Pray that your husband will understand the importance of taking care of his body—the temple of the Holy Spirit—for the glory of God. Pray that he will practice self-control by making wise food choices, and get sufficient exercise to stay healthy. (Rom. 12:1-2; 1 Cor. 6:19-20, 9:27)
(Source)

And the Bible scriptures that go along with it are as follows:

Romans 12:1-2 (The Message) So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (The Message)  In sexual sin we violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for God-given and God-modeled love, for "becoming one" with another. Or didn't you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit? Don't you see that you can't live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body.

1 Corinthians 9:26-27 (The Message)  I don't know about you, but I'm running hard for the finish line. I'm giving it everything I've got. No sloppy living for me! I'm staying alert and in top condition. I'm not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.

Dear Jesus, please watch over my husband. He is such a wonderful person and I feel lucky to have met him. I just ask that you help him to take care of his body. Please him him to continue to work out and exercise. Let him take care of the temple that you gave him. Help me to do the same, Lord. I don't want to take this body for granted. What a blessing it is! Help both of us make wise decisions while eating. Help us to exercise and live a healthy life both for each other and for our children. We love You so much and appreciate everything that You do for us! In Your name, Amen!

God bless you all

and cheers to Project 366!

Project 366: Day 36 [March 23rd]

Do I even have to tell y'all what today was?

It's Friday. I'll give you three guesses.

Nope, my birthday was March 6th.

Nope, Tayler's birthday is close, but not today.

YES. It was CLEANING DAY. That's my Friday morning ritual. Hopefully y'all are picking up on that by now, but if not, I'll certainly let it slide ;)

You know, it gets more and more difficult to clean with a toddler following after you and getting into everything that you have just put away or cleaned. I tried to keep her in her play room, haha, but that didn't work either! And then she ended up coming in behind me and falling on the freshly mopped floors. Yes, talk about stressful, haha! But we FINALLY got things finished. Don't you adore a fresh, clean house? Me too!

So, here's a few pictures of our clean, clean, clean home:

That was our front entryway, our kitchen, and our living room.

Do you have a cleaning schedule? I know a few women that clean a different room each day. I know a few women that do like I do and clean everything on one certain day. That's how my momma used to do it and I guess I just followed in her footsteps. What are your thoughts on your cleaning schedule?

After that, we got really lucky because Daddy brought our porch swing up from a storage unit FINALLY!! :) We have been dying to get that up here since the weather turned nice and Ethan finally had time to get it. So, of course, we spent like an hour or two just a'swinging. It's so peaceful doing that :)

Gah. Didn't Tayler look absolutely adorable today? I just love that dress on her and that one piggy tail. She is just far too cute for her own good, gosh darn it ;)

Then, we all went grocery shopping. The fridge was BARE as BARE can get haha! It was definitely needed! We met Gigi there and got everything done that we needed to get done. And while in the check out, we both decided we were craving PIZZA. So, we called and ordered Pizza Hut and picked it up on the way home! Isn't that the neatest invention? Calling from a cell phone and ordering it to-go! Wonderful! We got pepperoni, bacon, and jalapenos on ours. Mmm! That's my favorite! What's your go-to pizza?

And once we got home, we snacked, then Ethan went to work out with his friend and I got Tayler all ready for bed! She LOVES bath time, haha! :) We always try and make that moment a 'God Moment' as weird as that might sound. I want to start some kind of tradition with her revolving around Jesus and how absolutely AMAZING He is to us, so I usually turn on some worship music while we are in there and just sing with it :) It's a wonderful Mommy-Daughter moment and I honestly wouldn't have it any other way.

This is Tayler after bath time in her big girl Dora peejays watching 'Yo Gabba Gabba.'

She just loves that show. Anyone else's kiddos adore it?

And after that, we sadly had to turn off 'Yo Gabba Gabba' and flip on 'Sweet Home Alabama.' We were so anxious to see who Paige was going to pick tonight!

And I have to say that I was disappointed. I honestly don't know Paige's heart, but mercy-- I liked Bubba A LOT better than Jeremiah. Jeremiah would NEVER tell Paige how he felt and that drove me crazy. To me, he always seemed like this crazy, psycho person that would go insane if she were even talking to another guy. I don't know. Like I said, I don't know her heart, but goodness... that was a terrible ending for Ethan and me!!

So anyways..

Now for the prayer today.

Pray that your husband will discover and live his God-given purpose. Pray that he will offer all his dreams to the Lord, and pursue only those goals that will bring God glory and count for eternity. (Jer. 29:11; 1 Cor. 10:31)
(Source)

And the Bible verses that go along with it are as follows:

Jeremiah 29:10-11 (The Message) This is God's Word on the subject: "As soon as Babylon's seventy years are up and not a day before, I'll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

1 Corinthians 10:31-33 (The Message) So eat your meals heartily, not worrying about what others say about you—you're eating to God's glory, after all, not to please them. As a matter of fact, do everything that way, heartily and freely to God's glory. At the same time, don't be callous in your exercise of freedom, thoughtlessly stepping on the toes of those who aren't as free as you are. I try my best to be considerate of everyone's feelings in all these matters; I hope you will be, too.

Dear Jesus, thank You for Ethan! Thank You for giving me such a sweet and kind husband. Help him to follow after his goals, in You. I know You can do exceeding and abundantly above anything we could ask. Bless him in every way possible! We love You! In Your name, Amen!

God bless you all

and cheers to Project 366!

Project 366: Day 35 [March 22nd]

It was yet another gorgeous day in our world today! But guess what? Our air conditioner wasn't working. I know, how devastating? :( So, Tayler and I had to hang out around the house and wait for them to arrive to fix it! It was freezing up.. who would have guessed, haha! The guy eventually came and we were joking around about how he's probably never had to go fix someone's air conditioning in MARCH before. He said it's definitely new to him! Crazy, right? I can't believe I'm actually getting tan and it's MARCH haha! At least it's a head start, right? haha!

But anyways... thought I'd share a picture of our sweet Tayler. She turned 51 weeks old today. That means there's only 1 week left of 'Project 52' and mercy, I remember when I started it! Crazy to think that she's almost a year old.

That outfit was so cute yesterday, too! My Grandma Smith bought it for her! Thanks Grams! :)

Then we spent a LOT of time outside! :) It's too nice out to be cooped up inside.. even if all we do is sit on a blanket and read and play with blocks, haha!

That's usually what we do :) I'm reading 'The Wednesday Sisters' by Meg Waite Clayton. (Thanks Rachel) So, I basked in the sunlight enjoying this book and Tayler enjoyed playing with her blocks. She is seriously such a good little baby. She just sits on the blanket and plays and enjoys all of the sounds that come with nature :) Gigi came over and she hung out outside with us too! Thanks, Mom!

Here's a shot of Gigi and Tayler:

And Tayler and I posed for a picture too! :)

We had such a good time! But we came inside after awhile so Tayler could get something to drink and so she could take a nap! She was getting quite cranky out there and you always know if Tayler isn't happy when she's outside it's because she is tired, haha! Then Daddy came home and we decided to have a picnic outside! So, I made fajitas and chicken fajita rice. Here's what I used for the fajitas:

Rice a Roni Chicken Fajita (it's like a dollar at Walmart!), Fajita Seasoning Mix, Steak, and Tortillas. (The tortillas are only a dollar too!) All together, this meal was about $6.00 for ALL three of us! Not too shabby, eh?

I chopped up some green peppers and onions too to add to the steak mixture.

Yum, yum, yum! :)

And then, just follow the directions on the Rice A Roni box and the Fajita seasoning packet. It will list how much oil and water to add, etc. Then it should look something like this:

Sorry for the quality, these were all taken with my cell phone haha. I didn't have time to run and get my camera. I had a baby trying to dump everything out of all of the cabinets while cooking. Yes, we must invest in locks for those! I'm making a mental note now!!

After that, the rice was done, so I heated up some tortillas and put everything on plates for us :)

Not the best picture in the world, but you get the idea :) It was SO good and I think Tayler had a BLAST eating outside! We put it on her high chair try and she smiled the entire time, haha! It was so cute, plus it made clean up time that much easier!

It was just Tayler and me for awhile because Daddy finally sold his Civic, but we still had a fun time, hehe! :)

Then we came inside and got baths. It was definitely a necessity with how much time we spent outside today! We all smelled like sun-tan lotion, that's for sure, haha! :) After bath time, Tayler and I decided to have some fun in her play room. It's been neglected with all of the time we've been spending outside, so we decided to play on the slide and on the floor for a little while. Here's Tayler on her slide:

She loves throwing herself forward and going down it, haha! She laughs every single time :) And here's a shot of our view on the floor. Thanks Jess and DJ for those letters. Tayler absolutely adores playing with them!!!

And see that tan I'm actually getting and it's only March 22nd? HOLLA! haha! :)

And our night ended with:

Of course! How did you all feel about the results show? Well, first of all, I know my husband was ecstatic because his woman was on there ;) haha! He loves him some Haley Reinhart, goof ball! I always tease him about that! But I will say that I was pretty close on the bottom 3. I picked Joshua, DeAndre, and Heejun and it was Erika, DeAndre, and Heejun. However, I said that Heejun was going home, but Erika did :( Sad, huh? I really think Heejun and DeAndre will be next if they don't pick things up. Guess we'll see! What are your thoughts about the night?

And now for the prayer today:

Pray that your husband will be courageous in his stand against evil and injustice, and that he will stand for the truth. Pray that he will protect you and your family from Satan’s attacks. (Ps. 31:24; Eph. 6:13; Ps. 27:14)
(Source)

And the Bible scriptures that are go along with this prayer are as follows:

Psalms 31:24 (The Message) Be brave. Be strong. Don't give up.
Expect God to get here soon.

Ephesians 6:13-18 (The Message)  Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

Psalms 27:13-14 (The Message)  I'm sure now I'll see God's goodness
in the exuberant earth. Stay with God! Take heart. Don't quit.
I'll say it again:  Stay with God

Dear Jesus, I know I say this every morning, but thank You so much for Ethan! He is such a wonderful husband and father and I know Tayler and I are SO blessed to have him in our lives! I pray that he is courageous today! I pray that he knows Your Word and will abide in it. I know he loves You so much and I just ask that he always follows after You and what Your Word says! I pray that he knows the scripture and that he uses it against any attack from the enemy. We know there is power alone in YOUR NAME and we pray that he uses that! We love You Lord!!! In Your name, Amen!!

God bless you all

and cheers to Project 366!

Project 366: Day 34 [March 21st]

I know, you're probably getting tired of me saying how beautiful the days are around here! Yesterday it was about 82 degrees, which is completely out if the ordinary for this time of year! It is crazy to think that this time last year, I was walking to get Tayler out wearing jeans and sweatshirts! But my question is this-- if Summer came in March, does that mean that Autumn is going to come in August. I won't be hatin', I'll tell you that much, haha! But anyways, Tayler and I went outside yet again today and boy oh boy, did she enjoy it! She loves hearing the birds chirp. It is the sweetest thing :)

And look at this happy smile:

She ain't no fool, haha! She knows what to do when the camera is out ;) We had such a good time! Since all of our chores were done Monday and Tuesday, we decided we'd relax today. Then, we went to Pap and Gigi's house. We see them often, but it's usually just for like 20-40 minutes at a time. They'll stop over on lunch hours or we'll go out to eat quickly. So, we went over there last night just to spend some good, quality time with them :)

She enjoyed playing with Oreo and of course, chewing on the ball and watching 'Yo Gabba Gabba' haha! :) Hector Jimenez was on, so of course, she was locked to the TV. She just LOVES him ;) We had some yummy Pizza Hut pizza, breadsticks, and wings. Thanks so much Mom and Dad for everything! We had a wonderful visit! Tayler didn't want to leave...

She just kept wandering around the driveway, haha! And we were all chasing her. It was so cute! She felt so big, you could so tell :)

And guess what Ethan let me buy today???

NEW GLASSES! These ones will match his softball team's jersey colors! I ended up purchasing a jersey to match him, so I am REALLY excited now! :) My mom purchased me some orange flip flops, too! Yes-- I will be all decked out, haha! Orange glasses, orange shirt, orange shoes. We're ready to go! She also got Tayler an adorable hair bow to match her shirt. We're ready for softball, Dad! :)

Once we got home, it was bath time for everyone! We were kind of in a hurry so we could watch us some 'American Idol.' Are there any fans out there? Who are your favorites?

I thought last night's show was good, but I really think you're starting to see the individuals who should proceed on with this competition that have raw talent and those that do not. My favorites last night were Jessica Sanchez, Colton Dixon, and Elise Testone.

I felt Jessica can just sing. Period. Randy nailed it right on the head when he talked about consistency with her. That's how Carrie Underwood won it, remember?

Colton just knows how to reach into people's hearts. I feel like he truly connects with the music and I honestly really appreciate that.

Elise gave me cold chills. Not to mention, I love that song! '13 Going on 30' anyone? :) She did such a good job and I feel she deserves to stick around because of that!

DeAndre Brackensick. Oh my. I don't even know what to say. I've never been a fan and last night made me realize why. I just don't like the 'feeling' he brings to the stage. I don't like the hopping around and the hair. I'm mean, aren't I? Sorry :( Just stating how I feel!

Hollie Cavanaugh- I felt she did a really good job last night. She isn't my particular favorite, but she has a gorgeous voice on her and I feel she deserves to stick around in the competition a bit more. Plus, I loved how she was dressed last night!

Heejun Han-- He ranks up there with DeAndre in my book. I don't know how he's made it this far, honestly. But I think last night's performance was there worst of them all. I guess we'll see tonight, eh?

Erika Van Pelt-- Okay, completely off the subject of music, but HOLY COW, I love her new hair do! It takes YEARS off of her face. Does anyone else agree?? Gah, loved it! It was just wonderful! And her voice was just gorgeous last night as well. She definitely deserves to stick around!

Joshua Ledet- Okay, I am going to be honest here. I LOVE Joshua's voice. I really do, but I also think America is going to get tired of it. Remember that young man that sang a lot of gospel last year or the year before? I can't remember his name for the life of me, but I know he got voted off rather early. Not that Joshua sings gospel and not that there's anything wrong with it.. I'll listen to Kirk Franklin any day of the year, but I just think others are going to get tired of the same thing.. after the same thing.. every single week.

Phillip Phillips is one of my husband's favorites. I can't say that he's one of mine. I enjoy his music, but I can't help but think that you wouldn't see him making anything after this. I don't know why, that's just how I feel. What are your thoughts on Phillip? He's good, please don't get me wrong, but I just get a 'weird vibe' with him.

Skylar Laine- What a cutie! And boy, can she sing! I loved last night's performance. She has such a great stage presence and she can sing like nobody's business. She definitely deserves to stick around!

Who do I think will be in the bottom 3??

1. DeAndre Brackensick
2. Joshua Ledet
3. Heejun Han

And I think Heejun Han will be going home. Of course, I said that last week and was wrong.. .so I could very well be wrong this week! What are your thoughts on the bottom 3?

And now for the prayer today:

Pray that your husband will have a balanced life—that he will balance work and play. Pray that he will fear God, but also gain favor with people he knows at work and church. (Luke 2:52; Prov. 13:15)
(Source)

And the Bible scriptures that go along with it are as follows:

Luke 2:51-52 (The Message) So he went back to Nazareth with them, and lived obediently with them. His mother held these things dearly, deep within herself. And Jesus matured, growing up in both body and spirit, blessed by both God and people.

Proverbs 13:15 (The Message) Sound thinking makes for gracious living,
but liars walk a rough road.

Dear Lord, thank You for Ethan and for the man that he has become for our family. You have really blessed us with such a good person that would do anything for us! I just ask that You help him to balance his life between You, work, extracurricular activities, and his family. Help him not to feel overwhelmed with all that is going on in our lives. Help him to fear You and follow after You. Help him to be an upstanding person among those at work, our families, and our friends. We love You so much Lord and we thank You for all that You do for us! You are REALLY good to us!!! We love You!! In Jesus Name, Amen!!!

God bless you all

and cheers to Project 366!

And Happy Birthday to my sister and our Aunt Nancy! We love you guys!

Project 366: Day 33 [March 20th]

Goooood morning my sweet friends out there! :) Don't you love gorgeous, sunshine-y mornings? I do! And I especially love mornings when there are packages on my front door step, haha! It was a Scentsy package, of course! We are preparing to re-do our office after we get the upstairs finished and we are painting it like a baby-blue color with black and white accents, so we purchased a black and white warmer to go along with it and I bought a new Summer scent: Sunkissed Citrus! YAY :) I LOVE that scent and I can't wait for my house to smell like it, hehe!

Isn't that a gorgeous warmer? *sigh* I just love it!

Then Tayler and I packed up our blanket, toys, and water and we went outside to sit for a little while. I hate to keep her inside when it is so beautiful out! This is the first summer that she can really, truly enjoy the gorgeous weather. Okay-- scratch that, I'm getting ahead of my self, haha! It FEELS like Summer but surely isn't! ;) Since today was the first day of SPRING! But it was a beautiful 80 degrees today.. and we basked in it :)

Isn't she the cutest thing in the world? And hey- I was trying to get a tan, haha! This Momma wants to feel good about herself this Summer! Last Summer, I had just had Tayler and I hid myself behind a one piece.. this year I am attempting to say BRING ON THE BIKINI, hahahaha! We'll see how that goes! :) I took a few more pictures of Tayler too! She's too cute not to ;)

She's just too precious. We had an absolute blast!

Then we went down to our old town that we used to live in and Ethan purchased a new truck :) We have been needing one to fix some things around the house and our two cars just won't cut it, haha! So, thank God for His blessings... He had received one! God is good to us!

Isn't it beautiful? :)

And then we finally had some alone time together as a family! Ethan was playing with Tayler for hours it seemed like! It was just adorable! And while Ethan was getting a shower, Tayler and I had some more alone time :) I LOVE my family and I LOVE these precious moments!!

We had a wonderful first day of Spring together :)

And now for our prayer today:

Pray that your husband will be a good father—disciplining his children wisely and loving them unconditionally. If he is not a father, pray that he will find a young man to mentor in the things of the Lord. (Eph. 6:4; Col. 3:21; 2 Tim. 2:1-2)
(Source)

And the Bible scriptures that go along with this are as follows:

Ephesians 6:4 (The Message) Fathers, don't exasperate your children by coming down hard on them. Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master.

Colossians 3:21 (The Message) Parents, don't come down too hard on your children or you'll crush their spirits.

2 Timothy 2:1-2 (The Message) So, my son, throw yourself into this work for Christ. Pass on what you heard from me—the whole congregation saying Amen!— to reliable leaders who are competent to teach others. When the going gets rough, take it on the chin with the rest of us, the way Jesus did.

Dear Jesus, Thank You for Ethan and all that he does for our family! I ask that You bless him in every single are of his life. I ask that You bless him as a father and help him to be wise in his decision making with all of our children both now and in the future. Help him to love them unconditionally and be a positive role model. Help us both to work together for Your kingdom and be the best parents we can be. Please give us wisdom.. Your wisdom. We love You Lord! In Your Name, Amen!!

God bless you all

and cheers to Project 366!!
