Week 13 of Theme Weeks (Letters Y and Z, Numbers 25 and 26)



In the previous post, we discussed our Summer schedule. In that schedule, there was an hour in the morning for theme week activities and an hour in the afternoon. Monday (August 20th)
Morning Learning (9AM-10AM)

Trace letters Y and Z

Afternoon Learning (1:30PM-2:30PM)

Circle all Ys in a tree
Y is for Yellow Challenge. Find as many objects around the house that is YELLOW!

Book to Read:
Read 'Zoo' by Salina Yoon (Scholastic)
Letter of the Week Bible Discussion: YOU are the light of the world. (Matthew 5:14) 


Tuesday (August 21st)

Afternoon Learning (1:30PM-2:30PM)
Y is for Yoga! Time to do Yoga together.
Y is for Yawn craft


Book to Read: Read 'Zoo' by Salina Yoon (Scholastic)

Letter of the Week Bible Discussion: Read Psalms 26:3 (I always remember your faithful love. I depend on your faithfulness.) Talk about Jesus' love for us and do 'Jesus loves me' coloring page 

Wednesday (August 22nd)

Watch 'Zootopia' and make an Officer Clawhauser Donut craft

Letter of the Week Bible Discussion:  Tell the story of Zaccheus- you can find a great children's version HERE

Thursday (August 23rd)

Book to Read: To finish up our number discussion, read 'Count to 10' by Dalmatian Press (Sesame Street)

Letter of the Week Bible Discussion: Continue discussing 'Zaccheus' and sing Zaccheus song together 

Friday (August 24th)
Morning Learning (9AM-10AM)

Trace letters Y and Z
Find objects, letter Z challenge (Look for objects around the house that start with the letter Z
Z is for Zzzzzzzzs (sleep)

Afternoon Learning (1:30PM-2:30PM)
Book to Read: Read 'Zoo' by Salina Yoon (Scholastic)

Letter of the Week Bible Discussion:
Do an activity with all of the letters of the alphabet printed out, cut, and scrambled. Make sure to include the Alpha symbol and the Omega symbol. Have your children put the alphabet in order from A to Z and watch as they figure out what Alpha and Omega mean. 

Read Revelations 1:7-8 (The Message) In this verse, God says, "I am the Alpha and Omega (A to Z)." He was here in the beginning (the book of Genesis) and He lived amongst us, and He will be here for the end as well.
