January Activities

Well, it's the day after Christmas and you know what that means, right?

The fun doesn't stop around the Bay house! One of my "goals" this year is to be more active and doing something (even if it's tiny) every day with the kids!

We're going to kick off January with some New Years activities!

Want to join in?

Every day we have an activity to do together as well as a Bible verse that can encourage us during the next month. For New Years, we have encouraging quotes about resting in God and knowing that God has our future in His hands. For National Book Month, we will read Bible verses about studying and being diligent in our reading and learning. Every activity, every holiday has some verse to reflect on.

Let's do this!

Thursday, December 26th- Clean up after Christmas. Play with our new activities, toys, etc.

Bible verse to read: Isaiah 43:18-19 [The Message]- Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands. Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’ —the coyotes and the buzzards— Because I provided water in the desert, rivers through the sun-baked earth...

Friday, December 27th- Make a wishing wall as a family. [PINTEREST LINK

Bible verse to read: Jeremiah 29:11 [The Message]- I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

Saturday, December 28th-  2019 CRAFT [2 things you are thankful for, 0 a bad habit you want to break,  What is 1 important goal you have this upcoming year, what are 9 kind things you can do for someone else this year?] [PINTEREST LINK

Bible verse to read: Proverbs 3:5-6 [The Message]- Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track.

Sunday, December 29th- 2019 coloring page and activity [PINTEREST LINK

Bible verse to read: Hebrews 13:5-6 [The Message] Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” we can boldly quote, God is there, ready to help, I’m fearless no matter what. Who or what can get to me?

Monday, December 30th-  Do a New Years Interview [PINTEREST LINK

Bible verse to read: Psalms 20:1-4 [The Message] God answer you on the day you crash,
The name God-of-Jacob put you out of harm’s reach, Send reinforcements from Holy Hill, Dispatch from Zion fresh supplies, Exclaim over your offerings, Celebrate your sacrifices,
Give you what your heart desires, Accomplish your plans.

Tuesday, December 31st- Have a New Years Eve party complete with games, movies, etc.

Bible verse to read: 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 [The Message] Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn’t get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn’t think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me, My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness.

Wednesday, January 1st- Do New Years Activities (Word Searches, etc.) [PINTEREST LINK

Bible verse to read: Colossians 3:15-17 [The Message]- Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.

You’ll forget your troubles; they’ll be like old, faded photographs. Your world will be washed in sunshine, every shadow dispersed by dayspring.
