Project 365: Day 53- January 22nd

You should dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you only have one life to live and one chance to do all the things you dream of and want to do...

Day 53 of Project 365 began at 5:00AM. Yes, that is right... my eyes saw 5:00AM. haha! I have a little thing for this man named Ethan and since he gets up oh so early for work, I decided to get up this morning and make him a nice, hot breakfast! What did I cook you might be asking? 4 slices of french toast with cinnamon, powdered sugar, blueberries, and syrup... and of course, his favorite juice: Welch's Apple, Pineapple, and Orange! I felt like a regular ol' Susie Home Maker, haha! :) I LOVED it. He also got a packed lunch that consisted of a big bowl of homemade potato soup, crackers, yogurt, and fruit punch. I might have been tired, but I just love seeing the smile on his face! I have a great boyfriend and he absolutely deserves it! :)
Then, I had to take a shot of the hairdo, haha! I am still in awe that I have bangs! Crazy talk!
Then, the hair went up and it was time to do some weekly cleaning! I clean our house on Fridays.. and welp, that's what today is hehe! So, I turned up the music and got to work! I absolutely love the smell of Pledge and I LOVE the look of a freshly scrubbed and swept house! Here's a pic of me hard at work.. singing into the Swiffer, oh yes.. good times.
And of course, my Friday night would not be complete if I didn't spend it with Makala haha! We've spent every Friday together for the longest time... and tonight was no different! We got Dominos pizza (cause I was totally craving an oven baked sandwich!) I got the Italian Sausage and Peppers sandwich with Doritos and a coke and Makala got a Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich with Doritos and a coke. Oh yes, it was deliiiiicious! And it FINALLY got here. God love the poor lil delivery boy. He drove past our house 8 times haha!

Then... my dad did an adorable little thing and went and bought my momma new earrings! They are absolutely gorgeous and here's a shot of that!
And our night ended with us kickin it back to the 1990s... we watched Titanic on VHS haha! Oh, how I love that movie! I hadn't seen it in years so we were like.. heck, why not haha!
It was a good ending to a good day!
Cheers to Project 365!

Project 365: Day 52- January 21st

Hair style is the final tip-off whether or not a woman really knows herself. ~Hubert de Givenchy, Vogue, July 1985

On day 52 of Project 365, I got my hair cut! It was definitely time! My last hair cut was in June, 2009... so I was beyond ready.. and most importantly I was ready for a change! So, I asked the hair stylist if she could cut about 2" off and give me some bangs! I will definitely say that I was nervous... I had no idea what bangs would look like with my facial structure.. but I took the risk.. and here we are haha! I fe
el older with this hair style... I'm not really sure why, haha, but I have to say thanks to Jessica Simpson because it was one of her old school hair styles that I found on the internet that made me want to take the risk. (And this picture would be the pouty, glasses face haha!)

The rest of the night was spent with the boyfriend. I hadn't seen him since I left his house Monday morning, so I was SUPER excited to see his handsome face! We spent the evening watching Vampire Diaries and Supernatural hehe. I had to do a little convincing, but here we are haha! :)

Project 365: Day 51- January 20th

Seeing much, suffering much, and studying much are the three pillars of learning. - Benjamin Disraeli

For the first part of my day, I spent it engrossed in learning theories! I have a huge paper due Monday, so it was study time for this chick! I have to pick 1 learning theory and study and research it and write about it. I think it's going to be interesting! For those other nerds out there interested in this sort of thing (haha) I'm writing about the Theory of Multiple Intelligences. There is so many interesting things about it, I don't even know where to begin... but I will definitely start the writing process tomorrow. Wish me luck :) Here's a cute little picture of my work area.. and of course, my trusty I-pod touch! It's got all my tunes on it that get me by!

Then, I decided to start planning out my next item on my "bucket list"... reading the entire Bible.. all the way through! As some of you might be shocked to know, I haven't ever done that. Of course, I've read a good bit of the Bible, but I've never actually sat down and disciplined myself to read it all the way through. So, I downloaded a "Read the Bible Through in a Year" calendar and prepared myself to get started tomorrow! I am so excited. Another step towards checking another item off...

Then, it was girls time! We ordered pizza, breadsticks, and cinnasticks from good ol' PIZZA HUT (my absolute fave)

And this would be Kourt and me. We watched American Idol and Ghost Hunters and just caught up with each other! It was a great night!

Cheers to Project 365, studying, and friends! I love all of you.. tons!

Project 365: Day 50- January 19th

If you tell folks you're a college student, folks are so impressed. You can be a student in anything and not have to know anything. Just say toxicology or marine biokinesis, and the person you're talking to will change the subject to himself. If this doesn't work, mention the neural synapses of embryonic pigeons.”- Chuck Palahniuk

Today, I started my day off with Education 620: Meeting Individual Needs With Technology. I am one of those weirdo dorks that absolutely LOVES school. A
nd I'm so excited to have a paper due Monday.. no, there is no hidden sarcasm there. That is all truth. I just love being a student, I love learning, and I love writing; thus, papers fit me like a glove. I'm sure I'll update you as the weeks progress... and I'll probably be dreading papers by March, but we'll see, haha!
And when I went to check the mail today, I had a card in there from one of my friends Kat! Thank you Kat for the sweet card. You will never know how much that meant to me. Kat and I have had similar life experiences and it just was sweet that she thought enough of me to send a card and make my day better!

And how was my night spent? Working on the boyfriend's Valentine's Day present! I can't really say much about it on here (because of course I don't know who's reading this and who knows him haha) but it's taking a lot of preparation.. and I am SO excited! Today was basically the planning stages... seeing what I need to purchase, make, etc. I'm sure I'll continue updating as the weeks progress hehe! :) I absolutely LOVE surprises especially when they are for Ethan! hehe! :) I just love seeing his face light up! I'm anticipating February already!

And the night ended starting my paper for class on the application of learning theories. It's going to be a really busy week this week as far as class, work, and extra curricular activities go... so I wanted to get a head start on it tonight! We'll see how far I get. American Idol seems to be distracting me haha!

Cheers to Project 365 and to life <3>

Project 365: Day 49- January 18th

I don't believe in failure, because simply by saying you have failed, you've admitted you attempted. And anyone who attempts is not a failure. Those who truly fail in my eyes are the ones who never try at all. The ones who sit on the couch and whine and moan and wait for the world to change for them. - Sarah Dessen

For those of you that don't know, I made a "Bucket List." I was extremely inspired the other night (after listening to "Live Like You Were Dying" 45.2342 times hehe) and laid in my bed thinking of what would happen if someone told me I only had "x" amount of time left to live. What would I regret? What would I wish I would have done? What would I pray to God to give me the strength to do? So, I took a few hours and wrote down 25 things.. and I am proud to say that I crossed two of the things on my list off last night. Now, I'm opening up a little about my life right now for those of you that read this.. and I will admit that I'm embarrassed, but here goes. I have a problem with doing things alone. I can be home alone for days, not a problem. But to leave the house alone? Dear heavens, it's rough. So, #21 on my "bucket list" was to drive further than 25 miles alone. And guess what? Thank You Jesus-- I did it last night. I drove to Ethan's house and spent the night! It was quite the journey. I was a nervous wreck, but I did it. So, upon arriving at Ethan's house I got to hear the words I desired to hear in #23 on my "bucket list"-- "Alyssa, I am so proud of you." It might seem silly to those reading this, but it was a huge mountain I had to overcome and God gave me the peace to do it. And not only did Ethan tell me he was proud of me, my mom, and brother texted me to tell me as well. I've been longing to hear those words for quite some time now... Only 23 things left to go... cheers to that!

And here's a picture of me just arriving home from Ethan's early this morning! I look rough, but hey.. it was 6:30AM (cause he has to work at the crack of dawn haha)

I came home and took a little bit of a nap (because 6:30AM is unholy as far as the clock in my body goes).. and I woke up and had an amazing lunch! Peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich (with Conns Potato chips in between) with a glass of Pepsi. SO GOOD! I just had to take a snapshot of it for y'all to see hehe!

And this would be how I spent the rest of my day... part of the time sitting in my computer chair reading for class that starts tomorrow (eek!) and part of the time laying in my bed.. still reading for class tomorrow! Oh, and of course, I was accompanied by season 2 of Supernatural. You could say it's an addiction. Pray for me, haha! :)

Project 365: Day 48- January 17th

"All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast." - John Gunther

And that's what we did this morning! My mom is amazing and she woke us all up to blueberry pancakes, sausage, eggs, and toast! And my favorite juice! It was absolutely wonderful! Corey and Marie spent the weekend, so it was a huge family event :) You can't really see Brad, but he's in there too haha! These are the moments I live for... when the hustle and bustle of life just dies down for a few hours and you really get to enjoy the time you have with those that mean the most to you. It's been a family filled weekend and I've loved every second of it.

The rest of the day was spent watching "Monster Quest" on the History Channel with the entire fam. Then we said our goodbyes to Corey and Marie. I miss them already! Brad decided to wear my cute little shoes to tell them bye in haha. I told them they really brought out the hair in his legs..

And then-- I was off to spend the night with Ethan! My first night at his apartment. I had my cute little bags packed and everything, haha! I felt like I was going to an old school sleepover, hehe!

Cheers to Project 365, family, and life <3>

August 13th Journal Prompt: Anger.

The journal prompt of the day is: How do you deal with your anger? I bottle a lot of my emotions up inside. If I feel anger- it may show on...
