Project 365: Day 89- February 27th

What I learned is not to change who you are... because eventually you're going to run out of new things to become.

That's Alyssa 2010. Feeling better since my recent struggle with mono and ready to just start living life to the fullest. I've been discouraged lately about certain areas of my life, but I just wanted to take a second to just remind myself that I can do anything I put my mind to because I have God by my side. I am just trying to trust Him to take care of every situation... and I know that He will help me in whatever way He can. But anyways, that's a picture of me getting ready to go out for the night. We went to my FAVORITE place to eat! I was sooo excited.. here's my meal:

Of course, I'd eaten quite a bit of fries by this picture, haha! But I got the hamburger, seasoned fries, raspberry iced tea.. and I ate some of my dad's sweet potato fries. Yummy! It was DELICIOUS and yes, I ate every bit of it (and had 7 glasses of raspberry iced tea hahaha!)

Then, we journeyed to Walmart... and well, it's never a dull moment with my brother Corey and I together haha!

Oh, you don't want none of this, haha!

Go loooooooooooooong!

And how cute is this?

Then, I wanted to show everyone the snow piles in our parking lot. And yes IT'S STILL SNOWING! lol Crazy talk, right?

Cheers to Project 365 and this crazy, beautiful life!

Project 365: Day 88- February 26th

Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis stated "I am a woman above everything else.."
and I'm pretty sure it's our nature to want cute little nails, hehe :) So, I took a little bit time once I got home from Ethan's today to do my nails! (while sipping on a delectable sweet tea I got from McDonals.. yum!) They aren't perfect (obviously because I did them haha) but they work! And Ethan loves them! I have had purple nails seriously since the day we started dating, so it's definitely a new, fresh look. I love it!

Then, despite the despicable weather that seems to plague us EVERY year on my birthday haha, we ventured out for a night of bowling :) My 23rd birthday is March 6th... we just decided to celebrate a little early since Corey was home this weekend. There wasn't a lot of people there because of how treacherous the roads were, but I am SO thankful for those that were there! Mom, Dad, Corey, Ethan, Makala, Brad, Tiffanee, Helen, Kourtney Sue, Hosh, Casey... you guys are amazing and I'd be lost without each and every one of you! Here are a couple shots from our night out:

Momma and me :)

The boyfriend, me, and my brother Brad, haha!

My brother Corey and me! :)

One of my best friends Kourtney and me :)

And one of my best friends Helen and me :)

It was a GREAT night last night! I am so thankful for the gift of life God gave me 23 years ago. I only hope that it is being used to the best of my ability.

Cheers to Project 365 and the breath of life.

(oh and a Happy Anniversary to my babe today! I love you!)

Project 365: Day 87- February 25th

"The Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword.."

My morning started off with some Bible reading! Still working on checking that off my Bucket List. But, it's also nice to just turn on some soft music and get lost in His love that shines from those pages... It was a wonderful way to start off my day :)

Then, I had to work on some homework. Only 9 more classes and I will finally have my Master's degree... which means I can progress on to actually starting my career! How exciting! I'm trying to just stay motivated and positive! Friday brings hours of working on a Final Project that's due Monday... more about that later, haha!

Then I spent the evening studying with Ethan. He is working on getting his CDL license, so we spent a couple of hours making flash cards with the crazy numbers and facts he's suppose to know to get his temps. I felt like I was back in high school again, haha! It was so fun! We had a little quiz... and he did a great job! It's pretty hilarious watching me try to test him over the information because half the time I have NO idea what I'm talking about! LOL But, we got through about 1/3 of the book... here's to getting through the next 2/3 by Monday!

And the rest of the night was spent engrossed in American Idol. I will say that none of the people I thought were getting voted off... got voted off. Come on America. Lets get our act together, haha! Sheesh! I'm already excited for next week though!

Cheers to Project 365 and to life! You are quite amazing :)

Project 365: Day 86- February 24th

I got some Sprite today from Tim Hortons. I can't really explain it.. but Sprite from there just tastes better than purchasing it from anywhere else. Weird, right? Eh. Anyways, it was delicious and just what I need for a sore throat that is STILL present. *rolls eyes* haha! I got 2 big glasses of it.. mmm boy! It was tasty!

Then I spent the day resting. My mom rented lots of movies as I said yesterday, so today I watched Love Actually, Signs, and Hide and Seek. Uber freaky movie, haha! I shouldn't watch scary movies alone! Lesson learned. Well, actually, I should have learned that lesson FOREVER ago, but I'm stubborn, so there you have it, hehe! Tomorrow the movie agenda is: Harry Potter, Along Came Polly, and The Pursuit of Happyness. I'm very excited! I've never seen any of them!

Then Helen and Kourtney came over to visit me! It was so nice to see humans, haha :) I've been inside other than doctor's appointments for the past week so I was very excited to see their smiling faces! We enjoyed the 2 hour American Idol tonight!

This would be my favorite- Lee Dwyze:

And as I did with the ladies... my favorite men are: Lee Dwyze, Casey James, and Michael Lynche.

Who do I think is going home? Alex Lambert and Jermaine Sellers.

We'll see tomorrow night, huh? :)

Cheers to Project 365, American Idol, and best friends!

Oh wait- and can I just ask... what was with the scarves tonight? haha!

Project 365: Day 85- February 23rd

When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion... love actually is all around.

This would be a quote from Love Actually which is just one of the movies my mom rented for me to help me get through the rest of the week. Thanks mom! :) She rented tons of movies I've never seen before, so I'm uber excited! I got: Love Actually, Good Luck Chuck, Pursuit of Happyness, Eyes Wide Shut, Hide and Seek, Signs, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and Along Came Polly.. We can check Good Luck Chuck off of that list.. and soon, Love Actually (cause I'm watching it right now :)) Movies always seem to enhance my mood, let me tell you!

Then I spent the evening with Ethan and we watched...

And I picked my favorites and the two I think are going to be kicked off Thursday.

Favorites: Crystal Bowersox, Haeley Vaughn, and Didi Benami.

Voted off Thursday: Lacey Brown and Lilly Scott.

Cheers to Project 365 and once again, getting better! :)

Project 365: Day 84- February 22nd

This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it :)

So, I'm sure my Project 365 hasn't been near as exciting as usual here lately, haha! I guess that's what being in bed does to ya, but I'm working on spicing it up! I finally got up the energy to finish my paper that was due today so here's an action shot of me using my self-created rubric to assess a few instructional technology tools. Sounds really fun, huh? hehe :) Oh believe me, it was!

Then I read a little bit in my neck book HEATHER got me. She knows I love everything about dreams.. interpreting dreams, hearing dreams, telling dreams.. I am just so fascinated by them! So, here's a shout out to Heather for buying it for me! I appreciate it sweetie! It was definitely a breath of fresh air from my day to day activities I've had here lately hehe!

And oh yes, more exciting news in the land o' Alyssa.. stripped my nail polish off. It feels so weird to see my real nails. They have been hidden under Positively Plum for about 2 months... it feels good to let them breathe, haha :) I just wanted a care free look for now, so there you have it! Plus, it gets really annoying trying to keep up on maintaining the nail polish on my nails... so, there you have it. Nude nails for awhile. *sigh*

And of course, I ended my night with Secret Life :)

Cheers to Project 365 and trying to feel better!

Project 365: Day 83- February 21st

Life is not merely to be alive, but to be well. ~Marcus Valerius Martial

And this is what I'm working on! Today, I actually had REAL food. Pancakes, pudding, eggs, and rice.. mm! Finally! I've lived off soup this week, soooo to
day was quite the treat and I'll venture to say that my week will only get better. Once I'm feeling AMAZING with no pain in my throat... Burger King is the #1 place on my list of places to visit! I can hardly wait :)

And Ethan came over last night and brought "Joe Dirt." Prepare to be shocked... but, I've never seen it before! I know, I know... crazy talk. But I was excited. He said it
was hilarious and by golly it was, haha! I'm so glad he's been visiting me! Like I said yesterday, it gets really lonely in this room, so to have someone stop by, watch movies, talk, and relax with is quite relieving hehe :)
And the rest of my day was spent sleeping and watching more movies. I feel uber lazy just laying around, but I literally have no motivation to do anything and I can hardly keep my eyes open as I type this very sentenceeeeeeeee.... Sorry, dozed off :P

Cheers to Project 365 and not losing your sense of humor through the rough patches in life!

Project 365: Day 82- February 20th

Happiness lies, first of all, in health. ~George William Curtis

This quote is true. I am generally a very happy person, but being sick has made me feel a little less happier than usual. Exhibit A is above. I have ate about 323423
4 bowls of soup this week due to a killer sore throat... oh, we have mixed up for sure though! Some kind of chicken/bacon soup, chicken noodle soup, tomato soup... all of the good stuff. Tomato soup has been my favorite however. So, here's a random shot of probably the 32343231 bowl of soup I had.. looks delicious, right?
And then I wanted to give everyone a view of the view I've had for the past week, haha! Nice, huh? I've watched SO many movies... or at least TRIED to watch SO many movies this week! I literally have only made it through about 2 of them total, but I gave an effort so that has to count for something, right?

And I finally had a visitor today, haha! My mom came in and watched Win a Date with Tad Hamilton with me... and we watched about 3/4 of In the Land of Women as well! She kept joking it was "visiting hours" haha! It was great to actually sit and talk to someone! It gets rather lonely in this room.. all by yourself.. for a week, lol! :) So thanks momma for doing that!

And Ethan came and visited later on that night too! So, that means.. yes, I had TWO visitors! He keeps good company too :) I just love that boy!

Cheers to Project 365 and road to recovery!

August 13th Journal Prompt: Anger.

The journal prompt of the day is: How do you deal with your anger? I bottle a lot of my emotions up inside. If I feel anger- it may show on...
